About the event
Originally from the UK, Mike Garner relocated to New Zealand in the mid-80s and has since become a prominent figure in the country‘s Blues scene.
Mike is proficient in acoustic Blues, Ragtime, jug band and Americana styles, often performing with resonator slide guitars.
His discography includes albums like Q Blues (2024), Don't Mind the Rain (2020), and Cad’s Alley (2006).
Some of the accolades Mike has achieved in his extensive career include being played on Dan Ackroyd’s syndicated House of Blues Hour radio show; a support slot for Motown masters The Four Tops, The Miracles and The Temptations in front of 50,000 people at the 2010 Mission Estate concert; and his song Louisiana Hurricane securing third place in the Americana category of Nashville’s International Song Competition in 2007.
Most recently, Mike appeared at the Live Magic Festival in Tokyo.
