About the event
Penni Feather
From traditional folk and acoustic blues to her originals in a contemporary folk style, Penni loves to connect with an audience through song. Known for her interpretive skills, she brings a wide vocal range and emotional depth to her performances.
After starting out in folk music in Hamilton and Auckland, followed by many years as professional singer in Auckland and Queenstown, in the 2010s Penni was again active on the North Island folk circuit and has guested at Wellington, Aongatete and Hamilton folk festivals.
In the last couple of years Penni has had a one-woman cabaret show in the Hamilton Arts Festival and performed in the inaugural Raglan Blues Festival and with WilkieMac in the Raglan Folk Festival. She has also researched and been performing a set of political and protest folk songs (from the 1600s to the 2020s) which has met with an enthusiastic response from folkie…
